Rolling up our sleeves in your community

Through employee volunteerism, corporate donations and sponsorships, Newfoundland Power was able to provide over $600,000 to support the province, including those affected by cancer and mental health, in 2015.

Over time we have raised more than $3.4 million through The Power of Life Project for the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation, thanks to the support of our employees, customers and the company itself. In 2015 alone $400,000 was donated to help supply much-needed medical equipment in Burin, Gander, Grand Falls-Windsor, Stephenville and St. John’s.

We also launched the “from the heart” employee giving program to work to improve mental health in our communities, and we invested in our province’s youth by supporting arts, fitness and education. We sponsored Shallaway Youth Choir, SportNL’s annual SportFest West and the Junior Achievement Hall of Fame Awards, to name a few. In 2015, we also continued our over 30 year sponsorship of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Fire Services Learn Not to Burn school program.

Our employees who volunteer are there to help in any way they can. We rolled up our sleeves and picked up our shovels at 7 different Envirofest events last year and also donned hair nets and aprons to prepare a meal at The Gathering Place.

At Newfoundland Power we are happy to have the opportunity to support the communities in which we work and live.
