Does Your Town Project Need a Little Boost?

NLP - TAKECHARGE OF YOUR TOWN - FB POST Newfoundland Power is pleased to tell you The takeCHARGE of Your Town Challenge can help! Since the initial challenge in 2010, takeCHARGE has granted $40,000 to cities and towns in an effort to help them reduce their energy use.  In 2016, another $7,500 will be awarded to a deserving municipality for their conservation initiative.

Maybe your town already has a project in mind for this year, or this contest could help kick off a brand new idea. There are so many different upgrades that your town can undertake to become more energy efficient. Take for instance one of last year’s winners, The Town of Meadows, who decided they would upgrade the heating and cooling system as well as lighting in the town’s recreation centre and fire hall.

Proposals are now being accepted. The deadline for submission is 4:00 p.m., February 14, 2016. The successful proposal will be announced in March. Don’t let your town miss out on this opportunity; you can’t win if you don’t enter!

Check out the proposal criteria and learn more at takeCHARGEnl.ca.

takeCHARGE is a joint initiative between Newfoundland Power and Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro that is aimed at providing Newfoundlanders and Labradorians with information, tools and programs to assist them in using energy wisely.
